The villagers of Chipping Cleghorn are agog with curiosity over an announcement in the local Gazette inviting them to witness a murder at the home of a friend.
Unable to resist, they gather at the appointed time and, sure enough, there is a murder. What follows is a classic Agatha Christie puzzle where the wonderful Miss Marple,
whilst not dropping a stitch, provides the solution in a dramatic confrontation just before the final curtain.
This was in fact the first Agatha Christie play that to date, the Colwall Players had done, although a number of other "who-dunnits" have been presented over the years.
